Sing to the Lord a new song for He has done marvelous things. Psalm 98:1
What’s your favorite song?
Doesn’t it make you happy just thinking about it? ☺️
Music moves people.
How?
Because sound is vibration, frequency and a wave. It’s an energy that moves chemicals and creates harmony in the cells in our body.
When we take sound and put words to it, we now have a powerful creative force because words have vibrations, frequencies and waves too.
When we sing songs with pleasing music and positive words we add yet another layer of vibration, frequency and waves! Scientists have shown that music is the fastest way to “raise our vibration.” Being in nature is second.
Numerous studies have shown singing songs with positive messages releases chemicals into the pleasure center of our brains, relaxing our bodies and lifting our moods! ????
I double love ???????? chanting prayers, praise, worship and devotional songs! I believe this is a transformational tool for our spiritual toolbox. I try to start each day sitting and singing to the Lord.
Music, singing, chanting and mantra have been present since ancient times and used for the purpose of drawing near to God.
This is because music has a predictable, reliable effect on our body. Monks, sages and seekers of God know that human sound is a profound tool for healing, spiritual growth, and peacefulness.
Here are a few quotes about the power of singing:
Dr. Paul Haidar, in Relax into Success says, “Science has proven when we chant we improve our health in amazing ways…and it’s free!”
Pastor Robert Morris, in Frequency writes, “the singing of songs is actually a vehicle by which we can worship the Lord and connect with His person.”
Dr. Dharma Singh Khalsa, in Meditation as Medicine says, “The vibratory effects of chanting have several important physical effects including; improved immune function, increased balance and harmony among cellular systems, quiet inner dialog, lower blood pressure, lower stress.”
So go ahead, sing to the Lord a new song, for He has done marvelous things! (Psalm 98:1)
